Coupe 008

Coupe 008 represents the fully realised MkIII specification — the point at which the Devaux concept matured into a resolved, production-intent grand tourer. Built around the GM LS-series V8 platform, it combines robust, globally serviceable mechanicals with the flowing aero-coupe form that defines the marque. The integration of the drivetrain, cooling systems and bespoke chassis architecture reflects lessons learned from the earlier cars, resulting in a package engineered for durability, ease of maintenance and effortless long-distance touring.

Beyond its mechanical credentials, 008 embodies the interior refinement that characterises the Mk III cars. The cabin presents a deliberate blend of period aesthetic and modern usability: classic instrumentation, sculpted timber fascia, hand-trimmed leather, air conditioning for real-world comfort, and a properly engineered spare wheel provision. It is not a nostalgic pastiche, but a coherent environment designed to be driven and enjoyed.

Coupe 008 has been an honoured guest and featured attraction at the National Automobile Museum of Tasmania, where it drew sustained interest from enthusiasts and industry observers alike. Its presence in a museum setting underscored the car’s significance as a contemporary coachbuilt Australian marque with genuine historical reference. It now resides in a private collection, a fitting destination for a car that represents the culmination of the Mk III development program and the most complete expression of the Devaux grand touring philosophy.
