Coupe 007
Coupe 007 was completed in 2004/5 for a European client and represents one of the earlier fully realised coupes to leave the workshop. Faithful to the aero-coupe inspiration yet engineered with modern mechanical integrity, 007 demonstrated from the outset that the Devaux was not merely a stylistic homage but a serious grand touring machine.
While in Germany, the car is reputed to have reached 200 km/h on the Autobahn — a figure that speaks more to its stability and mechanical confidence than to any intent of sustained high-speed use (and certainly not something we advocate). The episode nonetheless reinforced that beneath the sweeping pre-war silhouette lies a chassis and drivetrain combination capable of genuine performance.
Coupe 007 is now in the United States in the care of a private collector, further illustrating the international reach of the marque. Its journey from Australia to Europe and then to America underscores the export viability and enduring appeal of the Devaux concept across discerning enthusiast markets.
